Book week!

 This week was book week and it was so fun! on Monday we got told that there were five golden tickets hidden around the school. people were looking all over for them the whole week. On Tuesday there was a book giveaway and people walked out with so many books. Wednesday was wacky waka Wednesday so people showed up in there house colours. Thew out the week all the classes were working on there door. Our theme was Peter Pan! Me and Kyah worked on the tick tock crocodile.We ended getting second place!
it was worth the hard work. And finally on Friday it was book charterer day. I went as Tinker bell because it suited our door theme. Here is me and Bella, she went as Sasha from aot, cool right!

Hammer Springs

 Last week the while of Totara hub went on camp to Hammer Springs. We did lots of activities for the 3 days we were there.

Chapter 5

 Since starting reading The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas each chapter we have been answering questions that happens in the chapter.  Here is what I did for chapter 5! If you ever need a new book to read i suggest this one!

Hammer Springs

 Before going to camp we are studding on a lot of things based around Hammer Springs. I decided to look up on the Earth's inner core, I did this because the hot springs in Hammer Springs have help from the Earth's core to make them naturally hot.

 This week after reading The Boy In The Striped Pajama's Bruno just moved to the concentration camp so for one of our tasked we had to make a diary entry.

Principal of the day!

 Last week I was chosen to go to lunch with George for Principal of the Day. I was in the library for the whole day for kids lit training before lunch. I got picked up by George, when the bell went and we met up with Miss Hines and went into the school van. After the fun ride we finally came to Seven Penny. We ate our mouths out before going back to school. It was fun!

Senior video writing

How long have I been walking for? I feel the hot breeze shining upon me as I breath hard. My head is down looking at my feet slowly walking. Feeling the sand go in between my toes, it’s so hot that it burns. I stop in my tracks and look up to see a vast desert with no end. Putting my hand up so the sun doesn't shine in my eyes but it still seems to get in. I need water, I tell myself. I tasted my dirty saliva demanding for cold, clean water. I start walking again. I don’t know why, I know I'd be walking for days until I find anything. Why? I pinch my arm to make sure I'm not dreaming. Yep, definitely awake. I feel like crying but nothing would come out. Am I going to die here? As I'm walking I feel my determination draining out of me. I heard something, My mind was racing...what was it? A voice? It sounded angry. I couldn't keep my mind on it. I just want to sleep.

This is a story I wrote to read to the little kids. We had to watch three different videos and make a story based on them. I decided to take different aspects of each story and make my one. Here is a drawing I made to go off of the story.

T2 Art

This year Totara 2 started our art for the first term. We all got told to make an avatar and then Miss Hines told us we where going to enlarge them. We got an A-3 grid of paper and we started working. After a few days my art was finished. :)  Do you like art?

WALT: Use a tree diagram to find all possible outcomes and make predictions

Today for class we watched a video on how to make tree diagrams. We got to choose which sports to make a diagram about and our group chose basketball. We did our diagram about the probability on a basketball going inside the hoop and not going inside the hoop if a player was shooting free throws. 

Mussel Investigation

On Friday we dissected mussels.  We learned all about them and how they work. I learned so many new things about mussels that I didn't know about. We learned all about them for camp as it is coming up in a few weeks. On camp we are going to the Marlborough Sounds and we will be learning all about marine life. I learned that if you keep them still out of water they can sometimes open their shells and you can see the inside. I never knew that until we learned about them on Friday. I can't wait to learn more stuff at Mistletoe Bay!

Sunday

On Sunday we had a party with a few of mums friends. There was five adults and four kids. We barley have people over so having nine people was a lot for us.  I made lots and lots of pork dumpling with my dad, we made at least a hundred dumplings. we were literally in the kitchen making them for about two hours! Our friends brought some delicious vanilla cupcakes for desert.
