Beware of Mr. Pent

Last week we had to make a poster about "The worlds worst teachers" witch was a book that we read over the term. We where a few chapters in so we only got to choose three different teachers for our poster, Mr. & Mrs. Lovey-Dovey, Miss Spick's, and Mr. Pent. I chose Mr. Pent.  For our poster we had to make a warning sign on how we should not go to the particular school, This is mine.

Butterfly Method

This week for maths we are making DLOs for things we have learnt in class, theses things include fractions, multiplication, and a bunch of different methods to solve fraction problems. For my DLO I wanted to make a poster on how to solve the butterfly method. So here's my DLO on the butterfly method.

Why you need to go to school

You know that if you don’t go to school you most likely will not be successful. People may say that that is not true but according to Michael Bernick, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.“ This is why everyone should go to school or be home-schooled. The first reason is that if you go to school you will find what you like, like your hobbies and your major. Ever since kindergarten the teachers asked students what career they would like to do when they grow up. When they go to elementary and high school they begin to make that choice so they are ready for college. The second reason is that when you go to school you don’t just learn grammar or maths. You are stuck with people in your class and on the playground, and you have to socialise with people. If you don’t go to school, you will not know how to socialise well. The last reason is that school has lots of activities like football, rugby, basketball, and arts and crafts. You can try many talents and hobbies. These things can make you very happy and you can express yourself. In conclusion, school is not just all boring. Try and sign up to an activity you would like to do, socialise with people, or even think about what you want to be when you grow up. This is why you should go to school because school is not just about learning facts.

New Bunnies

last week my mum came home from work and said that one of her friends had two bunnies and that she didn't want them so we could have them. I was very happy because we just moved out of our old house and the bunnies would be our first animal in our new house. My mum told me that one of them was black and the other one was white. She also told me that they where coming in two weeks. We where not prepared at all. We didn't even have a bunny house built.  Before we could make a decision my mum left and went to L.A. for work. When she was in Christchurch about to go on her plane she called us to say that she didn't want the bunnies to come when she was gone. So she told he friend that we didn't need them for the next two weeks. This made me sad and happy because the last time I had bunnies was when I was 4 years old. Right now i'm still waiting for the bunnies to come and my dad is making a bunny house. I can't wait for our bunnies to come and my mum to come.

PrEP 2019

PrEP 2019

This year for PrEP me and my group the painting maniacs decided to make pencil cases out of glass jars and paint. We also are painting rocks and putting designs on them. The last thing that we wanted to make was fidget clickers out of the lids of the jars because we did not need them. Some things that we need to work on in our group is that we aren't that cooperative. Besides the bad

 things we are doing really well on our group. for mini market we made 110N and we sold most of our stuff. Every body has a job in our group there is a CEO, treasurer, quality control, secretary, and workers. If you didn't now what PrEP is well  its a activity where you learn how real jobs work.

My thinking of holes

After we read the book holes are task was to rate the book and the movie, tell the reader why you like the move/book and what was your favourite pare of the movie/book. After that we had to do the similarities and the differences. AKA what happens in the book that didn't happens in the movie or what happens in the movie that didn't happens in the book And what was the same in both the movie and the book.

Fractions

In maths we had to make a fractions poster that showed how they worked. The first thing I did to make this poster was to search up some links for people to use. Then I started writing how they worked. lastly I searched up some pictures of numbers and fractions, for this activity we only had about an hour. I think I did really well because I was managing myself and I wasn't distracting other people.

Forever Home

For chapter chat one of the must do's was "In New Zealand the number of people living homeless is increasing every year. Put together a booklet with information that can help homeless people." By the sentence I printed the slide and made a booklet out of it. Hope you like it!

Chapter Chat week 5

Chapter Chat.
One of the most do's for chapter chat was to search up what you would bring to the desert, bush, or the forest. I chose desert because for chapter chat we are reading the book hole's and its based in a desert so to keep the theme so i decided to just do desert. When we do chapter chat every week on Friday we have to post our work onto twitter and then Mr. Chapter Chat picks out his favourite ones. This Friday two of my activity's where Favorited my Mr. Chapter Chat. I got to get two things out of the treasure box.  I hope that next time you do an activity you should try your best so you can get a treat back!

Week One Chapter Chat

This week we had our first week of chapter chat. It was so fun! We are right now reading the book holes from Louis Sachar. These are some of the things I did well doing the tasks.

Power Station Hill

Today I went on a trip to the power station hill. Cosmin was are tour guide and he showed use how electricity worked, he also showed us the safety and needs of electricity. After he was done we where off to Power Station Hill. We had to walk 45 minutes to get there, when we got there we had to walk up a hill. The hill was very long and my legs started to hurt, but we made it.

 When we where up the hill Cosmin told us all about what he said when he first came, it made a lot more sense when he said it at the power station. After Cosmin was done talking we got to eat. When we where done eating people had to go in groups and see the back of the power station. When everybody was done looking at the back we had to go back to school.

Cosmin was a very good tour guide and I learned a lot about electricity. My favourite thing about Power Station Hill was when we where allowed to look at the back of the power station.
